The Division of Hematology & Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina is actively recruiting a leader to direct the Sickle Cell Anemia program for the MUSC/State of South Carolina. We are seeking a clinical faculty member with a focus and special interest in the treatment of and research related to Sickle Cell Disease. Preference for a qualified candidate suited to join the department as an Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine based on candidate qualifications and approval by the College of Medicine Appointment Committee as well as the MUSC Board of Trustees.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be Board Certified in Hematology
Candidates must be eligible for SC licensure
A record of scholarship commensurate with appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor within the School of Medicine
Approaching 5 years or more of Sickle-Cell program expertise/leadership
Additional Qualifications:
History of collaboration and teamwork within and across departments and programs
Track-record of institutional and community service
Outstanding communication skills
Demonstrated career progression in preparation for a position of this scope, complexity, and scale
Experience with developing or administering budgets
Prior experience in directing and supporting research and educational programs
Willingness to engage in philanthropic activities
Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self-development

Role will be split between administrative, clinical and research time
