About the Opportunity: The Roux Innovation Associates Program is a one-year career development program for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and community builders that immerses recent graduates in the Maine startup ecosystem with a goal of ecosystem enhancement.
This role is a chance to get amazing experience, broaden your network in ways you could never imagine, have exposure to up-and-coming companies and incredible organizations in Maine while engaging in meaningful career development and self-discovery. The connections you make and experience you develop may open opportunities at participating resident ventures and companies at the end of your Innovation Associateship!
Responsibilities: Innovation Associates will be responsible for undertaking a series of projects for the Roux Venture Lab as well as for resident startup and spin-out ventures. These projects will be assigned by the Innovation Associateship Manager through a mutual interest process to ensure ideal outcomes. Projects vary based on needs and Innovation Associate interests and skills; they include, but are not limited to
Managing and executing community programs for the Center working with the Director of Entrepreneurship and the Community & Engagement Manager
Developing and executing marketing for Center events
Prototype development, testing, and iteration for resident companies and concepts
Market research for resident companies and concepts
Customer development research for resident companies
Co-develop a cohesive marketing strategy for resident startups that can be operationalized across different types of campaigns
Generate sales leads researching personas, where to find them and how to reach them
Qualifications: We're looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and community building. Strong candidates possess:
A completed bachelor's degree or are currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university as an undergraduate student
Strong interest in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and community
Creativity and are innovative and entrepreneurially minded
Strong analytical skills and a love of learning
An execution-orientation with proven requisite experience
Active listening skills and are emotionally intelligent
Independent thinking capability with inclination to collaborate while simultaneously managing multiple projects for different stakeholders
Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work independently and across various disciplines within the Center
Two years of experience working at an entrepreneurial organization, startup, accelerator, incubator, in corporate innovation, or for your own venture with preference towards leadership positions required.
An interest in exploring all that the Maine entrepreneurship ecosystem has to offer!
Experience working in a professional setting as an intern, coop, or work-study preferred
Salary Grade: 9
