Our team members advance the tripartite mission of the UNC School of Medicine, including excellent patient care, superior teaching, and impactful research. We support our faculty with professional development opportunities in the department, in the institution, and nationally. Each faculty member is supported by a mentoring subcommittee that helps build the framework to a successful career, including career planning, counseling around career goals, and regular review of academic activities, all tailored to individual professional and personal goals. The selected candidate will join our growing sports medicine team in our Durham, NC community based practice. The position will serve as an extension of the Sports Medicine Program Director's vision, leading and coordinating various initiatives and programs. The Department prefers full-time positions, but is willing to negotiate to no less than .75 FTE (full time equivalent). Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Education and Experience: Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med Peds. Fellowship training and/or an advanced degree (e.g. MPH) is highly desirable, but not mandatory. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and with a program and/or systems development. Sports Medicine research, and working with IRB processes experience is preferred. Experience teaching residents and medical students. In addition, the ideal candidate will need to possess the ability to communicate with a variety of learner groups and attending physicians and to collaborate and work in a team environment. The Departments is interested in applicants who are innovative thinkers with a research background and a collegial passion for medicine and performance.
