Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is seeking to add a General Cardiologist to their existing team of 5 general cardiologists that work in tandem with Heart Failure services, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Cardiology at Atrium Health-Pineville in southwest Charlotte, NC.
Qualified candidates should be:
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
• Interested in patient-centered, value-based delivery of CV care
• Interested in physician leadership (including, not limited to, a track record of collaboration with administrative and physician colleagues)
• Interested in cardiac critical care and partnering with pulmonary/critical care team to care for critically ill patients
• Skilled in echo and nuclear imaging; exposure or interest in coronary CT preferred but not required
• Able to perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms (including intraoperative) and Cardioversions

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is currently seeking a part-time, predominantly outpatient, Vascular NP or PA to provide quality care to the patients we serve in the Charlotte community. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be part of an established team of specialized Vascular Physicians and APPs.
This role will be an integral component of a high functioning team providing highly specialized vascular care focusing on vascular disease. The successful applicant will be responsible for the initial evaluations, pre- and post-procedural care, and chronic management. Predominantly in the office setting the successful candidate may perform minor in-office procedures and wound care.
Position Highlights:
• The tentative work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 1st shift hours
• No call
• This position is eligible for the annual Performance Incentive Bonus and CME allowance
• Teaching opportunities with students and/or APP Fellows are also available, but not required for the position
• Team consists of 7 APPs and 6 vascular surgeons
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
o Nurse practitioners must be acute care certified based on the population served.
o Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
• 1+ years of experience, Cardiology or Vascular medicine preferred. New NP/PA grads will not be considered at this time.
Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute’s Cardiothoracic Surgery program is seeking a full-time advanced practice provider (APP) to join our growing team. This APP will function independently in the inpatient hospital setting in collaboration with a supervising physician and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
Job Summary
• Coordinate, provide, and assist in providing comprehensive quality patient care to the Cardiology sub-specialty in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation under direction of the supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
• Shifts: Nocturnist – 12-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off, position is for night shift, 84 hours per pay period
• Weekends, Holidays required. No Call
Essential Functions
• Cross covers for all Sanger patients to include: Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery
• Manage acute problems that arise including changes in patient status, nursing calls, patient calls, codes and RRTs for Sanger patients we are actively following.
• Obtain detailed history and physicals on all consultations and admissions that occur during shift.
• Order and interpret a variety of laboratory and diagnostic testing when indicated for appropriate assessment and treatment.
• Manages Triage phone line for coordination of patient care, transfers, and communication with other consulting services
• Participates in education and training of APP students, APP Fellows, and on-boarding of new APP hires (when appropriate)
• Attends and participates in Atrium Health and Sanger required meetings, education, development sessions
• Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must. Will be working with a variety of MDs and APPs for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
Position Qualifications:
• Graduation for an accredited NP or PA program. Must be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
o Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP, AGACNP certification preferred based on population served.
o Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
• Experience in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, or Vascular surgery preferred.
• Demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills when working in a fasted paced, high acuity work environment. Able to perform a thorough history and physical assessment.
