Duke Primary Care Duke Primary Care is a broad network of community-based clinics that offer family medicine, internal medicine, pediatric, and urgent care services. With 400 providers in nearly 50 locations, Duke Primary Care is the largest primary care network in the greater Triangle. Our network saw more than 750,000 patient encounters in fiscal year 2021.
Our Duke Primary Care clinics provide personalized care for adults and children, from sick visits to preventive care, health screenings to immunizations, and annual exams to chronic disease management. Select primary care clinics also provide behavioral health, diabetes education, pharmacy, and other population health services. Duke Primary Care clinics are accredited and designated a Primary Care Medical Home by The Joint Commission.
Our Duke Urgent Care centers offer evaluation and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries 12 hours a day, seven days a week when a patientâ€™s primary care provider is not available. Services also include certain physical exams and vaccinations. A pediatric specialist is available at select locations. Patients can walk in to one of our nine urgent care centers located throughout the greater Triangle or can schedule a virtual visit to receive care from the comfort of home.

Contribute to the achievement of the DUHS mission through the development and leadership of performance improvement activities in the operational and/or clinical arenas. Assure continual compliance with regulations and accreditation standards through monitoring activities and the design and implementation of strategies to enhance compliance.
Plan activities aimed at improving the hospital's performance in operations or clinical quality. Identify opportunities for improved performance. Analyze data to identify trends and/or optimal performance. Utilize performance improvement techniques and methodologies to align with departmental goals Serve as a project manager for interdisciplinary teams. Establish and communicate performance targets. Design and implement strategies for enhancing performance. Evaluate effectiveness of improvement strategy through sustained monitoring of performance. Contribute to the establishment of performance improvement priorities for departments, functional units and for the organization. Support organization's efforts to
maintain compliance with regulations and accreditation standards. Monitor compliance through formal and informal processes. Recognize and support opportunities for improving compliance. Design and implement strategies for enhancing compliance. Evaluate effectiveness of improvement strategy through sustained monitoring of performance. Increase organizational understanding of performance improvement methodologies and principles and compliance through the support of and participation in formal and informal professional development activities. Serve as an expert resource on performance improvement and compliance as it relates to organizational role. Produce reports and presentations on performance improvement and compliance. Develop, maintains and enhances knowledge through orientation, self-evaluation and professional development. Ensuring adequate volume/ frequency of non-MD/ DO/ PA/ NP sessions to support the clinical practice (such as PharmD, RN, Vaccines, etx.)
Work with other Pickens contacts to ensure that scheduling is supported for other sessions (such as Centering, Social Work, Breast Feeding Medicine, etc.)

Unique circumstances (such as template adjustments for pumping)
Attend meetings/ meet with contacts to compare/ contrast the Pickens Family Medicine Access with other comparable clinics and work with Clinical Operations/ Leadership Teams to incorporate where possible
Work with team to ensure that schedule changes, both anticipated and unanticipated, are resolved in a timely manner
On the first notification team for provider call outs (such as sickness or emergency)
Work with teams to develop measures for success
Clinical Service line development
Assist development and implementation of new service lines
Maintain balance between 'Routine Family Medicine' vs 'Clinical Service Line'
Assist in the maintenance of existing service lines
Assist in the tracking of various clinical activities
Working with the QI and other teams on quality measure
Working with the team to develop, maintain and distribute pertinent data/ reports to stakeholder
Coordination of schedules for providers/service lines
Work with stakeholders to ensure that schedules are coordinated
Work with team to ensure that schedules once created, are functioning as intended
Support Patient advisory board logistics

Bachelors degree in a business or health-related field is required.
Minimum of 5 years work experience, including 3 years of experience with significant responsibility for performance/ process improvement. Experience leading work teams required. Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two years of experience.
