The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor to work at the OASIS program at UNC Chapel Hill. OASIS is a comprehensive outpatient program that specializes in the treatment of adolescents and young adults experiencing new onset psychosis or are at risk for developing psychosis.
The Clinical Instructor in this position will provide direct services and coordinate resources for patients and their families as well as work collaboratively with various community programs within the center.
Primary responsibilities include providing psychosocial and clinical assessment; providing evidence-based individual and group therapy services to adolescents and young adults experiencing their first psychotic episode; assist in community education on early psychosis recognition; assist in program evaluation through collection of outcome measures.
Education and Experience:
Considerable knowledge of psychosis and related mental disorders and psychosocial treatments; experience and/or strong interest in working with youth; familiarity with community resources and the public mental health system; excellent and written communication skills; and experience as part of a multidisciplinary team are preferred. Substance abuse treatment experience preferred.
