The combined 2-year residency/master of science in health-system pharmacy administration and leadership program provides residents with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to assume a variety of roles and leadership positions. Our graduates are equipped to serve as vibrant, committed professionals with a focus on improving patients’ health, health care delivery and the pharmacy profession as a whole. We help ensure their success through both didactic education and experiential opportunities in the classroom and in the workplace.

PGY2 Population Health and Data Analytics Management
The PGY2 Population Health Management and Data Analytics Pharmacy Residency Program at Wake Forest Baptist Health is a 12-month, full-time, postgraduate training experience based in our large regional health system. The program aims to develop critical data analysis and leadership skills to expand clinical services as it relates to population health. Residents will be instrumental in departmental and organizational initiatives that focus on value-based care and improving access, quality, and cost of care for patient populations.
Required rotations include immersive experiences in Medicare, Commercial, and Medicaid populations and value-based care contracts. The resident will choose one of two selective experiences: Advanced Medicaid or Medicare. Elective rotations allow the resident to tailor the year based on their previous experiences and interests and include but are not limited to: Rural Population Health, Behavioral Health, Special Populations (high utilizers, unengaged, health equity, etc.), or Skilled Nursing/Assisted Living Populations.
The resident will gain experience in academia through precepting PGY1 residents and fourth year pharmacy students, providing educational programs, and participating in preceptor development opportunities. Residents will also have the opportunity to present their research project at a professional meeting.
Requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school, licensure in the state of North Carolina or eligible, and ability to meet all requirements for application to UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Master Program.

Pharmacists and technicians partner to ensure safe transitions of care during pat...ient admission and discharge and assist patients in accessing pharmaceutical care. In the ambulatory setting the Department of Pharmacy has community and specialty outpatient services as well as home infusion. Graduate Pharmacy Education consists of eleven residency programs, an internship program, and learning experiences for three schools of pharmacy in North Carolina.
