The purpose of the position is to function as a Program Assistant for Continuing Education (CE) events. This position is supervised by one of the Assistant Directors of the Nursing & Allied Health Education Department. In addition, administrative program support may be given to the Director or the other Assistant Director in the department. Duties include assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of conferences, workshops, and symposia throughout the region as well as locally.
Primary duties include: responsibility for the organization, planning, implementation, tracking, and monitoring of multiple program management activities, including conference arrangements, faculty travel arrangements, health professional credit awards, contracts, grants, correspondence, and timelines for the oversight of Eastern AHEC regional and statewide responsibilities. The position should function with minimum supervision and be required to consult with the assistant director as appropriate for clarification or additional information. Must be able to make independent decisions as outlined by the director regarding program and faculty cancellations along with implementing the notification process for each cancellation.
Excellent customer service skills are required. Time management skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a self-directed and independent manner are essential. Proficiency in word-processing and database computer applications required (Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for frequent contact with all healthcare professionals.
